Angela had her 8th grade moving up ceremony this past Wednesday. It's a ceremony her school holds as the kids leave Soule Road Middle School. She is officially a freshman! It was a nice ceremony, and she received a couple of nice awards. She looked so pretty and her dress was so sparkly, she looked like a disco ball walking across the stage! I can't believe I will have two kids in high school, although Angela will be at the 9th grade annex, which technically is not the high school. It has gone so fast, I really can't believe it. Like Kenny Chesney says in one of his songs "100 years goes faster than you think, don't blink"

Working at the Car Wash!
Angela had her first(I'm sure of many) fundraiser for cheerleading. She had to wash cars at a local gas station, and I (unknowingly) signed up to be a chaperon. The weather was perfect, the girls were really sweet, and I met some really nice parents. To drum up more business, the girls decided to put Angela up in some stunts. It must have worked because they raised quite a bit of money. They even got to wash a fancy red car!!

Rickity Rackity Russ!
Last week were the try-outs for the Liverpool JV and Varsity cheerleading squads. The coaches for both cheerleading and track were pretty flexible with Angela, as she had to leave some track practices early, and missed 2 days of try-outs due to track meets. Apparently the cheerleading coaches were very impressed with Angela, because she made VARSITY!! Angela was the only 8th grader to make it. I guess it's pretty much unheard of for a incoming freshmen to make varsity(I guess those years and years of gymnastics helped). I was a little worried about how the older girls were going to treat Angela, but so far they have been great, in fact they all want her to be their flyer because she doesn't weigh very much. I never realized that cheerleading is pretty much a 10 month sport, she will cheer for football in the fall, basketball in the spring, and have competitions in between. I guess we will be spending a lot of time sitting in the bleachers! Congratulations Angela!
Last Track Meet!
Here are some photos and videos of Angela's last 2 track meets. She really enjoyed running this year and can't wait till next spring when she will be on the high school team. She came in 1st in the 100M and her relay team once again came in first. Congratulations to all the Liverpool girls on their undefeated season. Check out her videos, she really flies!

Liverpool vs Henninger!
Angela had a track meet this past week at Henninger High School(part of the Syracuse City School District). Henninger is a big school and a big competitor in track. Liverpool not only won this meet, Angela had one of her personal best meets to date. She placed first in the 100m, 3rd in the long jump, and her 4x100 relay team placed 1st. Her relay team is still undefeated. Two meets left, next up Baldwinsville then Fayetteville-Manlius. Check out her videos! Great job Angela!!

Jr. Prom!
Amanda and Mike
Amanda and Jordan
Mike and his datesLast weekend was Amanda's Jr. Prom. As you can imagine, the weeks leading up to this event were filled with stress for her,(how should I wear my hair? what table should we sit at? when should I get my nails done? do I look tan enough? Mike and I are fighting, we ARE NOT going to prom!) It went on and on! I thought finding the dress would have been the hard part, but it only took 2 trips to BoomBabies to find the perfect dress. Her hair looked beautiful (thanks Lisa!), and Lisa only had to do her updo once,(not like last year when Lisa did 2 updo's, and then Amanda decided she wanted to wear her down). Mike arrived on time (thank goodness) looking handsome, and I was able to get some nice pics. Our professional photographer Tara was here also,(thank you Tara!) I'm sure her pictures are much better than mine. Unfortunately it was pouring rain, so we had to take all the pictures inside. Amanda's friend Jordan came and went to the prom with them. They had a really fun time. Tim had a bit of a hard time understanding "the prom drama", but that's what teenage girls do. I probably drove Mom and Dad crazy too. All I know is in the end she looked beautiful and happy and that's what is important. And as Tim and I proudly watched them drive off (with a stiff drink in our hands), it dawned on us in a couple of years we will be doing this all over again with Angela!
